Objective:
To encourage and work with local, state and federal entities to identify and address deficiencies in the community which adverstly impact the economic life of our citizens.
Sub Committees:
Beautification - This committee submits suggestions and improvements to the city leadership in areas that can be aesthetically improved; ranging from improved street intersections to providing addresses and locations of dilapidated structures.
Quality of Life - This sub-committee recently conducted a Quality of Life survery to all residents of Ada and Pontotoc County via the chamber's web site and distributed hard copies. Data collected regarding a variety of areas will be shared with city leadership so that the local government can be active in addressing quality of life suggestions.
Green Initiatives - This committee has the task of educating the community of residents and students on recycling efforts, conservation and reuse. Partnering with the Ada Recylcing Coalition and the Chickasaw Nation Reuse Center, this volunteer group is proactive to educate the community on all of the ways we can make a difference to our land fills and our pocket books. This committe is sponsored by Holcim, Inc.
Playful City USA - This committee is focused on the park system in Ada and gaining national Playful City USA certification for safe parks. Working with the city of Ada, this committee will be addressing areas to help improve our local parks and make them family safe and for years to come.
Agri-Business - The committee will be coordinating efforts with the various agriculture organizations in the community. Ada has a great history of agriculture and this committee will be supporting the efforts of the various organizations.
